Heart-Based Currency

A small experiment in restoring value to the heart.

Nothing in the universe is truly free.

Everything moves through exchange.

Even love, when it is real, asks something of us. Not always money, not always payment, but presence, effort, sincerity, responsibility, and action.

This is not charity.

This is not a fake "energy exchange."

This is not pretending money does not matter.

It is a small experiment in remembering that value can move through the heart as well as through money.

The Seed

For a long time, I felt it was right to give my books away for free. I believed that spiritual work should never be hidden only behind money. And in one sense, I still feel this. Truth should not belong only to those who can afford it.

But life has been teaching me something more subtle.

Giving everything away for free is not always the highest way. Sometimes what is given too easily is not truly received. Sometimes "free" removes the sacred weight of exchange. Sometimes it allows the giver to avoid receiving, and the receiver to avoid participating.

Money is not evil. Money is one form of movement. It becomes distorted only when it becomes the master rather than the servant.

Heart-based currency is an attempt to remember another kind of movement.

A movement where value is not measured only by what we can pay, but also by what we are willing to give, heal, support, create, repair, protect, or uplift.

Currency is the movement of the heart into action.

In the old world, currency is measured by what we can pay.

In a more conscious world, currency may also be measured by what we are willing to offer back to life.

How It Works

If you would like one of my books, including Catalyst, but you do not want to pay money for it, you may receive it through heart-based currency.

This does not mean the book is free.

It means you work for it in another way.

Offer something of real value to life.

Help a person. Feed someone. Support an elderly neighbour. Clean a place that has been neglected. Help an animal. Plant something. Repair something. Give your time to someone who needs it. Create beauty somewhere. Serve in a way that you would not normally serve.

The action is up to you.

But it must be real.

Three Conditions

Condition 1

It must serve life

The action should genuinely help people, animals, nature, or life in some real way.

Condition 2

It must take presence

The action should take at least two hours of dedicated time and attention.

Condition 3

It must stretch you

It should take you slightly beyond your comfort zone. Not something you already do every day. Not something you are paid to do. Not something done lazily or only for appearance. Something conscious.

After the Action

Afterward, you may write a short anonymous blog post about what you did, so the act becomes a small inspiration for others.

If taking a photo feels appropriate and does not disturb the dignity of the act, you may include one. But the photo is not the important part.

The important part is the movement of the heart.

Then send me your email privately, and I will send you the book.

Not for free.

You paid through action.

You paid by putting love into the world.

This is not meant to be a perfect system.

It is only a beginning.

A small doorway.

A seed.

Perhaps one day we will remember that true wealth is not what we hold, but what moves through us in service to life.

Would you like to try a new way?
